Amanohashidate in Miyazu, Kyoto Prefecture (天橋立）

　Amanohashidate: Sandbar that’s famous for its beautiful scenery of the blue of the sea and the green of the pine trees.

　→In the early Edo period (1603-1867), the Confucian scholar Hayashi Shunsai, who traveled throughout Japan, identified three Japan’s most outstanding landscapes in his book. Amanohashidate is one of those three along with Matsushima (Miyagi) and Miyajima (Hiroshima).

3.6km long (2.2miles) →Approximately 50 minutes on foot →20 minutes by bicycle

12 minutes ride on the boat (from one end to the other of Amanohashidate)　700 yen/one way or 1200yen for round trip
