Sushi Restaurant Uobei 魚べい

Uobei is one of many popular sushi restaurant chains in Japan. Unfortunately there is only one Uobei in Kyoto Prefecture, which is in Yawata city. Uobei has expanded mostly in the east part of Japan, however there are more in Hyogo and Osaka if you have a chance to visit.

Instead of picking up sushi plate from a conveyor, Uobei adopts the self-order and auto-delivering system at every table.

I’m going to put some pictures of sushi from their menu.

Shrimp tempura roll (I recommend sweet sauce with them)

Bincho Maguro with onion and spicy sauce

Seasoned seafood Gunkan (ship roll)

Shrimp with onion and basil mayo sauce

There are a lot more options, from common nigiri to unique ones that are fresh and really tasty.

One thing I like about Uobei is they occasionally offer “time specials” such as Chutoro (medium fatty tuna) and sea urchin for very cheap(100 yen when I went before).

Uobei and Kura zushi are my favorite 100yen sushi restaurants.

I’m going to introduce Kura zushi in a later post.
