Today’s Kyoto (Fall 2022) Nanzenji Temple(南禅寺）

Nanzenji Temple is the head temple of the Nanzenji School of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism, founded in 1291 by Hōhō Kameyama with Zen master Mukan Fumon as its founder.

It is famous for its autumn foliage, which attracts many visitors every year.

Many autumn leaves can be seen in the spacious grounds, and your mind is soothed by those beautiful scenery seen from all angles.

It’s site has a western-style water channel with a retro taste, known to many as a photo spot.

There are Kyoto City Zoo, Heian Shrine, and a museum neaby, making a full day of sightseeing possible in this area.
